Beginner Quilting; Patch Block Quilt
Studio Focus: Textiles
Duration: 6 Weeks
Location: Textiles Studio, 3rd Floor
Instructor: Kristy Woudstra
Discover the joy of quilting. Learn cutting, piecing, and finishing techniques while creating a cozy, colourful patch block quilt. Slow down, learn something new and enjoy your time as the project comes together piece by piece.
Quilting is equal parts craft and comfort, both meditative and expressive. You’ll choose your colour palette, cut your fabrics, and learn to assemble a bold patchwork quilt that reflects you. Each session builds your skill and confidence as you create something lasting and beautiful. The best part is how accessible it is; a steady pace, clear guidance, and people making something meaningful, together.
We’ll all work on the same pattern, but each quilter will choose from curated colourways or bring their own fabric. You’ll learn how to accurately cut, plan layouts, piece seams, and assemble the quilt top. Then we’re quilting and binding to finish our work with pride. The process is creative and calming, and a great introduction to the art of quilting.
