The Handbuilt Table

This six-week course serves as an exploration of table settings through handbuilding techniques. Students will create a setting for one, with the ability to expand further as desired. Techniques will focus on pinching and slab techniques, mindfully manipulating forms in a slower, manual approach. With three core forms to explore; cylinders, bowls, and plates, students will develop at least one of each, with the space to bring them beyond their sole purpose.

Each week will focus on a new form, the final week set for glazing pieces. Simple decorating techniques will be instructed. Students will walk out with their own table setting for their cherished daily rituals.

Six sessions of in studio learning, with passes for two member drop in days to come in to the studio and work independently to complete your projects. All materials are provided, additional materials are available for purchase.
