Rug Tufting Basics
Learn the essentials of rug tufting! In this course, you'll make a tufted piece using our cut pile or loop pile tufting guns, then finish the work by shaving, cutting and backing it.

Your Instructor: Our experienced textiles instructors are passionate about sharing their expertise and guiding you through the journey of skill development and creative exploration through textile art, craft and design. This course is taught by: Beth Martin
Beth Martin is a fibre artist with a focus on subverting imagery and objects through the use of yarn, with an emphasis on elevating what is often thought of as a hobby medium. As an instructor, she builds her courses around feminism and accessibility as they relate to craft. Beth works primarily in rug tufting and crochet.
Materials and Supplies: All materials are supplied. Participants are welcome to bring their own fabrics/fibres to use during the class.
HCS Facilities and Equipment: Hamilton Craft Studios’ well-equipped ceramics facilities are designed to facilitate a diverse range of ceramic work. Our spacious studio is equipped with pottery wheels, kilns, work tables, and other essential tools to support your creative journey.
