HCS Craft Camp / Week 3: August 11 - 15 / Ages 7-12
HCS Craft Camp – Week 3: Clay!
Week 3 is all about clay! Join artist & illustrator Spencer Ashley in creating amazing and whimsical ceramics pieces while learning introductory hand-building techniques.Â
At HCS Craft Camp, kids dive into hands-on craft and art experiences across all our studios - all while learning real skills and stretching creative muscles. Each morning is spent focused on the week's theme, and afternoons are spent at the park and exploring campers' creative interests.Â
Before & after care is available; before or after care only ($25/per) or both before and after care ($50).

How It Works
Studio-Focused Mornings
Each week features a different studio focus — like ceramics, woodworking, art & design or textiles — led by an experienced artist-maker who brings their passion and know-how all week long.
Camper-Led Afternoons
Afternoons are all about camper choice. We call it Choose-Your-Own-Crafternoon: rotating creative stations full of exciting projects and materials kids can move through at their own pace. Every child gets to follow their curiosity and make something truly their own.
About HCS Craft Camp
HCS Craft Camp is hosted at Hamilton Craft Studios, a 14,000 sq ft creative hub in the city’s east end. Camp is led by practicing artists and craftspeople who love working with kids and love what they do.
Each week explores creativity through materiality and introduces campers to different techniques in ceramics, woodworking, textiles, and more. Campers learn real hands-on skills through playful, age-appropriate projects designed to foster imagination, confidence, and problem-solving.
We integrate STEAM learning, creative thinking, and safe studio practices — all while keeping it light, inclusive, and fun.
At the end of each week, families are invited to our Friday Show & Tell to see what the kids have made and hear directly from the young artists themselves.
