Basic Block Printing

Learn how we make blocks for block printing and printing on paper and fabric. Students will learn how to carve rubber blocks and design their own. We will all work with the block samples to print paper and fabric.
Workshops are an opportunity to get in the textile studio and learn something new. Students will gain hands-on experience from artists and professional makers to learn techniques for surface design, pattern making and related skills.
One session of in studio learning, led by a professional craftsperson, held in the printing studio / program room. All materials are provided. Feel free to bring additional fabric / ink and stay to do more printing during our member hours following the workshop.
